Week Eight Recap
Nov 1, 2001
The Utah Stixx Boyzz "layeth the smacketh downeth" on the Wisconsin Whippin Wizards 105-54.
The Defense finally stepped it up and played a great game. Sammy Knight scored a team record 20 points for us. Boy are we glad that we resigned him at the start of the season. We think we have finally settled on a core defensive unit for us. But we are always looking to improve our team. If the situation is right we will make a change as needed. but as of right now let's not change a good thing.
Special team played a solid game for us again. We are very pleased Janikowski. We had to set him down last week for a "violation of team rules". He has missed only one field goal this year and that was a 50+ yd attempt. Last week in his place we signed Jon Carney and he filled in great. We think we will keep him around for a little bit longer.
Offensively I think we have finally hit our stride. We had to change the way worked our offense. I think we will be going with a single back set for the rest of the year. We picked up Eddie George off waivers and played him. He didn't fit well with our offense so I think he will sit this week out.
We also took another blow at Wide Reciever when Marcus Robinson went down with a season ending injury. We think we made some good pick-ups with the additions of Troy Brown and Kevin Johnson. This will give us a ton of weapons at the wide out position.
